About us

Who is Zion Community Church?
Zion Community Church is a community of believers who are dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word – the Bible. We believe in the development of strong faith, strong families, and strong relationships. We are not perfect people or a perfect church, but we do strive to be the best followers (disciples) of Jesus we can be.

Matthew 28:19-20 says, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

We exist as a church to exalt God, equip followers of Jesus, and evangelize the world for Him. Another way to put it is, we are followers of Jesus learning how to worship Him, walk with Him, work for Him, and help others do the same.

Here is a list of our core values and distinctives that we work to express in our effort to be disciples and make disciples of Jesus.
  • Love – We seek to demonstrate a wholehearted love for God and for others. Matthew 22:36-39; John 13:34-35
  • Worship – We emphasize the importance of worshipping God in everything we do by showing and encouraging an attitude of worship at all times. Exodus 34:14; Matthew 4:10; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Colossians 3:17
  • Prayer – We seek to have a genuine reliance, dependence, and devotion to prayer. Acts 2:42; Romans 12:12; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; James 5:16
  • Obedience – Obedience to God’s Word is not an option. We must set our hearts to study His Word and to do it! Deuteronomy 13:4; Psalm 1; John 14:15; James 1:22; 1 John 5:2
  • High view of God – We seek to maintain a high view of God. We cannot afford to think less of God than He really is. In a world where He is made to be everything from a glorified bell-hop to some evil dictator, it is of utmost importance we learn to think correctly about God. Exodus 34:6; Psalm 19; Isaiah 55:6-9; Malachi 1:6-11
  • The Bible is central – We uphold the Bible to be the very foundation, core, guide, and source for all we believe and practice. Psalm 43:3; Psalm 119:105; John 17:17; 1 Timothy 3:14-15; 2 Timothy 3:16-17
