Our Faith

“Who am I?” “Why am I here?”
“Where am I going?”
How you answer these questions can determine the quality and path of your life. We must have confidence in our basic beliefs in much the same way that we place confidence in the foundation of our houses. We build our homes on the foundation because it is built on strong and dependable bedrock. As we build our lives together, here are our church’s bedrock beliefs:

  • We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired, infallible Word uniquely designed to enable us to know, follow, and live in Him. We choose to make it the absolute rule of faith and practice for our lives and the ultimate authority for our values, traditions, & practices. ~ 2 Timothy 3:16-17

  • We believe that there is only one God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. ~ 2 Corinthians 13:14

  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of His Father, and in His personal return to this earth in power and glory. ~1 John 5:20

  • We believe that humans are created in the image of God, but we are sinful and have fallen from our relationship with God. We need salvation that can only come from God’s grace and mercy. ~ Romans 3:23–24

  • We believe that our salvation is by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. ~ Ephesians 2:8-9

  • We believe that faith leads us to a life of: believing in the cross and resurrection; confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior; repenting (turning away from sin and turning towards God); being baptized into Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection; and living the transformed life of worship as shown throughout Scripture. ~ Romans 6:1–4

  • We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit who is constantly working in our lives, changing us, and empowering believers to live a holy, fruitful life. ~ John 14:26

  • We believe in the Church, the local communion of believers, who are called to worship God, to reach the lost with the Gospel, to fellowship with each other, to equip her members, and to minister to people’s needs. ~ Ephesians 1:22-23

  • We believe in this Blessed Hope – the Second Coming of Christ. He will come to judge the living and the dead according to their deeds. Those who reject Jesus Christ as their personal savior will go to hell and those who have accepted Christ as their Savior will go on to heaven ~ 2 Peter 3:8-13
