Growth is essential for all life, and this includes our spiritual life. The Bible teaches us that God expects us, His children, to grow spiritually. The Apostle Peter tells us that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. However, unlike natural life, our spiritual growth will not be automatic; it will require effort on our part.
