Seek his face and not his hands…Love the giver more than the gift…Sayings like these are popular in some churches today, and for good reason. Most people today look to Jesus for what he can do for them instead of simply for who he is. They are attracted to the miracles and the wonders of Jesus, but not to the man or his message. But we must remember that Jesus does not exist for us, but rather we exist for him. We do not surrender to his lordship simply because of what he can do for us, but rather because of who he is — the King of Kings.
