Our Story

How it all started...

Zion Community Church has a long, rich, and blessed history. The church was founded and built in 1889. At one time, there were 3 churches here in the small town of Zion. In the late 1960's all three churches came together as one, the Zion United Church of Christ. In 2005, the church left the United Church of Christ denomination and became known as Zion Community Church. We are a non-denominational, evangelical, congregational church. We are a church that loves Jesus and is doing our best to be disciples and to make disciples.

Expanding the vision...

In 2014, Scott Brown came on as the Senior Pastor of Zion Community Church. Scott came with the vision to see people growing stronger in their Faith and walk with God through the faithful verse-by-verse preaching and teaching of God's Word and to see our families and community growing stronger because of it.

Where we are headed...

We have come a long way, but we also know that we have further to go. There is a lot of work to be done before our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, returns. We want to be found faithful in the task of helping people to build strong faith by helping them develop a life-changing relationship with Jesus. There are more people who need to hear the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. There are more people who need to be equipped to grow stronger in their faith. There are more families in need of the power and Grace of God in their lives. We would like to invite you to join us in this story...His story of amazing Grace that changes lives!
